PSR-Parocial School of Religion

Our PSR program is using the Augustine Institute program called Word of Life. Each lesson incorporates 4 strands: Salvation (revealing God's presence and plan throughout history and our place in that plan), Christian Anthropology (the human story that answers questions about our identity and who we are called to be), Virtue and Character Formation (cooperating with God's grace and the supernatural virtues), Learning through Discipleship (nurturing a deepening integration of faith in our daily lives through Christian discipleship)

Lessons begin with prayer, incorporates scripture, has colorful pages, discusses work of great religious artists and uses videos to reinforce lesson topics.

Sacrament formation

First Communion and Reconciliation-preparation is done during PSR classes for 2nd graders.

Confirmation- Because we are a smaller parish, preparation is normally done every other year. Our diocese states "The sacrament of confirmation will normally be conferred during a child’s 7th grade academic year."

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults- Any adult seeking to become Catholic will need to contact Sister Mary Rost, our Parish Life Collaborator to coordinate formation time.
